This team is in turn supported by an exceptional set of administrators and specialist staff, as well as a broader network of consultants, coaches and mentors who work together to enable the shift from taking to giving within our clients.

Wendy Lambourne

Director

MA Industrial and Organisation Psychology Registered Psychologist with SA Medical & Dental Council
Wendy was brought up in Zimbabwe, Malawi and Britain. Wendy was head girl of her high school, Chaplin High.
One of Wendy’s earliest jobs was in the human resources department of what was, at the time, the biggest explosives factory in the world (African Explosives and Chemicals Industries (AECI), Modderfontein); that factory is, to this day, a client of Legitimate Leadership.

Ian Munro

Ian Munro

Director

B Bus Sci (IS Hons) M Com (IS)
After leaving school, Ian studied and worked in Cape Town, gaining bachelors and masters business qualifications, as well as valuable experience as part of an Internet startup during the turn of the century IT boom.
In 2003 Ian moved to Johannesburg to take up a role as a business consultant within a growing IT and management consulting firm.

Jimmy Furstenburg

Jim Furstenburg

BA Social Science
Jim held leadership positions at South Africa’s Potchefstroom Boys High – head of house, cricket captain and rugby captain. He represented his province in cricket and was awarded a cricket bursary to study at Nelson Mandela University. He wanted to become a professional cricketer.
There he played for various leading South African cricket teams – and graduated in social sciences with three majors: psychology, industrial psychology and sociology.

Mixo Mayimele

B Mech Eng; Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Mixo Mayimele has over 20 years of experience in South Africa and internationally in consulting engineering, telecommunications technology and investment. He has founded and managed companies in technology project management and venture capital investment.
His tertiary education was in South Africa and The Netherlands. He has worked in Johannesburg, Shanghai and Amsterdam.

Dave Stevens

Dave’s career before joining Legitimate Leadership was primarily in high-pressure project environments where delivery within time and budget constraints is critical. In these environments leadership is crucial in ensuring delivery.
He has worked in various sectors: mining, electricity (distribution and billing), banking (both retail and investment), insurance, and telecommunications and broadcasting.

Donnée MacDougall

Donnée MacDougall has a B Com in business economics, economics and Industrial psychology and a B Com Hons in business economics, both cum laude, as well as a number of other business-related qualifications.
She has 30 years of experience in consumer marketing, management consulting and general management at a senior level across diverse industries but particularly in the fast moving consumer goods industry.

After completing an Honours degree in Psychology at Rhodes, Josh started what would be a long career in the Project Management Consulting Industry.
Working with Deloitte’s, The X-Pert Group, Business Connexion as well as for himself over a period of 12 years he spent time leading large, complex business transformation programmes as well as implementing project management best practice in the public and private sector.

Leanne Maree

Leanne Maree

BA Hons in Labour Relations; Diploma in Business Administration
Leanne started her career in South Africa in the fast food industry, then moved to the tumultuous security industry in the mid-1990s. She was instrumental in the formation of a new employer organisation in the South African security industry, and was later appointed vice-chairperson of this body; she also served on a regulatory body for the industry.
After a brief period in the construction industry in Zambia, Botswana, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates, she return to the fast food sector in South Africa as a shareholder and director.

She has been working with the Legitimate Leadership framework for the last twenty years.  Successfully rolling it out in different and diverse environments.  The last and most successful intervention that she led was in Afrika Tikkun, an NGO, where she enabled an improvement in staff engagement from 26 – 59% by rolling out Legitimate Leadership in 18 months.  The world average for engagement is 27%, as measured by Gallop in a few thousand companies in the world over many years.

BSc Chem Eng; Master of Business Leadership; Certified Integral Coach
Nothemba was born in East London, South Africa. Nothemba began her professional career in South African Breweries (SAB). In the same company, she successively became a production team leader, business area manager, process engineer, and senior leader responsible for the company’s World Class Manufacturing (WCM) strategy implementation.
She particularly used continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles to attain operational excellence.

Peter Jordan

Peter Jordan

BA History, Geography and Environmental Science; BA Hons History
Peter grew up in the East Rand, South Africa, and still lives there. He was a high school teacher for nine years and then lectured in history at the Johannesburg College of Education. Peter then worked as a training officer at AECI Explosives and Chemicals (now AEL Mining Services).
He later became a human resources generalist, finally being appointed as AEL Mining Services’ Group Human Resources Manager.

Stefaan van den Heever

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration; Professional Certified Coach (International Coach Federation)
Stefaan, a South African, competed in the US collegiate golf first division and did various professional golf tours for 10 years. He also traded on the foreign exchange market for five years.
He now applies this experience of achieving in high performance arenas in his coaching work with clients.
He has been coaching since 2007 in South Africa for major companies, state institutions and a political party, at senior management and executive levels.

Zenobia hails from Cape Town. She studied at Rhodes University; on completion, she lectured and tutored in the Psychology and Sociology Departments and was instrumental in setting up the first university-based corruption-monitoring unit in the Eastern Cape – the Public Service Accountability Monitor (PSAM).
She returned to Cape Town to work at a non-profit organisation (Foundation for Contemporary Research) focused on good governance and sustainable livelihoods in the Western Cape.

Stuart Foulds

Stuart Foulds has over 15 years of experience in change management, organisational development, communication strategy and organisational communications, as well as training and leadership development.
He spent almost 10 years as an expert consultant at McKinsey & Co. He was responsible for delivering communication strategy, change management and related advice to corporate and government clients in various countries and sectors.

Sylvania Sheppard

Project and Quality Manager 

BTech – Business Administration 
Sylvania studied and worked in Cape Town, gaining a B Tech degree in Business Administration, focused in Business Administration, Labour Law and Strategic Management.  She then worked in administration for Ernst & Young, and thereafter in labour law for the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration.
She subsequently lived in the United Kingdom, Russia and Greece. Following her return to South Africa, she was business manager for an independent school, Pecanwood College.

Nonhlanhla Nyoni

Nonhlanhla Nyoni

Office Manager 

BSc (Hon) Geology 
After university, Nonhlanhla began her career in the South African mining industry. She worked for Anglo American, formerly South Africa’s largest mining company. In this job, she particularly conducted conduct quality assurance and control research on projects. She later also worked for a smaller geology consultancy, and thereafter for a postal and office administration franchise.
Nonhlanhla joined Legitimate Leadership in 2019. Her main roles in Legitimate Leadership are business administration and managing the many surveys which the company conducts.
