The following individuals make up our core consulting team of Legitimate Leadership Partners and Associates. This team is in turn supported by an exceptional set of administrators and specialist staff, as well as a broader network of consultants, coaches and mentors who work together to enable the shift from taking to giving within our clients.


Wendy Lambourne


MA Industrial and Organisation Psychology Registered Psychologist with SA Medical & Dental Council
Wendy was brought up in Zimbabwe, Malawi and Britain. Wendy was head girl of her high school, Chaplin High.
One of Wendy’s earliest jobs was in the human resources department of what was, at the time, the biggest explosives factory in the world (African Explosives and Chemicals Industries (AECI), Modderfontein); that factory is, to this day, a client of Legitimate Leadership.
In a senior organisational development role in AECI, she worked with leadership to transform the organisation, the golden thread being the Legitimate Leadership Model.

Ian Munro


B Bus Sci (IS Hons) M Com (IS)
After leaving school, Ian studied and worked in Cape Town, gaining bachelors and masters business qualifications, as well as valuable experience as part of an Internet startup during the turn of the century IT boom.
In 2003 Ian moved to Johannesburg to take up a role as a business consultant within a growing IT and management consulting firm.
Ian has held various leadership positions from captaining the South African junior national rowing VIII to an MD role in London, to taking an executive position as Head of Professional Services in the aforementioned consulting firm.

Josh Hayman


BA Hons Psychology
After completing an Honours degree in Psychology at Rhodes, Josh started what would be a long career in the Project Management Consulting Industry.
Working with Deloitte’s, The X-Pert Group, Business Connexion as well as for himself over a period of 12 years he spent time leading large, complex business transformation programmes as well as implementing project management best practice in the public and private sector.
As a facilitator he has also amassed a wealth of experience in group process, helping more than 40 organisations in the areas of employee and stakeholder engagement, strategy development and translation as well as personal development.

Nothemba Mxenge


BSc Chem Eng; Master of Business Leadership; Certified Integral Coach
Nothemba was born in East London, South Africa. Nothemba began her professional career in South African Breweries (SAB). In the same company, she successively became a production team leader, business area manager, process engineer, and senior leader responsible for the company’s World Class Manufacturing (WCM) strategy implementation.
She particularly used continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles to attain operational excellence.
Nothemba has completed various qualifications in coaching. In April 2016, Nothemba was named the LeadSA (SA: South Africa) Hero of the Month for her work in encouraging volunteerism in coaching in South Africa.

Peter Jordan


BA History, Geography and Environmental Science; BA Hons History
Peter grew up in the East Rand, South Africa, and still lives there. He was a high school teacher for nine years and then lectured in history at the Johannesburg College of Education. Peter then worked as a training officer at AECI Explosives and Chemicals (now AEL Mining Services).
He later became a human resources generalist, finally being appointed as AEL Mining Services’ Group Human Resources Manager.

Wendy has been coaching for five years with a focus on corporate teams, executive leadership and individuals.
Previously, Wendy enjoyed a 22-year marketing career in various blue chip South African companies.
She discovered a passion for facilitating the growth and development of people. This led her to taking South African and international qualifications in coaching.

Stefaan van den Heever


Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (University of North Carolina); Professional Certified Coach (International Coach Federation)
Stefaan, a South African, competed in the US collegiate golf first division and did various professional golf tours for 10 years. He also traded on the foreign exchange market for five years.
He now applies this experience of achieving in high performance arenas in his coaching work with clients.
He has been coaching since 2007 in South Africa for major companies, state institutions and a political party, at senior management and executive levels.

Leanne Maree


BA Hons in Labour Relations; Diploma in Business Administration (Edinburgh University)
Leanne started her career in South Africa in the fast food industry, then moved to the tumultuous security industry in the mid-1990s. She was instrumental in the formation of a new employer organisation in the South African security industry, and was later appointed vice-chairperson of this body; she also served on a regulatory body for the industry.
After a brief period in the construction industry in Zambia, Botswana, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates, she return to the fast food sector in South Africa as a shareholder and director.

Zenobia Africa


B Soc Sci  Hons Psychology (Rhodes University)
Zenobia hails from Cape Town. She studied at Rhodes University; on completion, she lectured and tutored in the Psychology and Sociology Departments and was instrumental in setting up the first university-based corruption-monitoring unit in the Eastern Cape – the Public Service Accountability Monitor (PSAM).
She returned to Cape Town to work at a non-profit organisation (Foundation for Contemporary Research) focused on good governance and sustainable livelihoods in the Western Cape.

Leonie Head Shot

Leonie van Tonder


Leonie van Tonder was born and raised in Klerksdorp, a mining community in South Africa.
The first 18 years of her career were spent in the nursing profession, three of those as the Matron of the mine hospital at Vaal Reefs in Orkney.  At the time this was the second biggest
mine hospital in the southern hemisphere.  This experience gave Leonie some insight into the mining world from the health and safety / accident perspective.

Stuart Foulds

Stuart Foulds has over 15 years of experience in change management, organisational development, communication strategy and organisational communications, as well as training and leadership development.
He spent almost 10 years as an expert consultant at McKinsey & Co. He was responsible for delivering communication strategy, change management and related advice to corporate and government clients in various countries and sectors.

Donnée MacDougall has a B Com in business economics, economics and Industrial psychology and a B Com Hons in business economics, both cum laude, as well as a number of other business-related qualifications.
She has 30 years of experience in consumer marketing, management consulting and general management at a senior level across diverse industries but particularly in the fast moving consumer goods industry.
